Around 1950 the carryall bag was just what you needed for that special occasion. It held your lipstick, powder, cigarettes and a few coins for the cloakroom. Everything else was left in the cloakroom whilst you had dinner - and this was smart enough to take anywhere. Ref: 537 B8/15.
