VINTAGE MAUVE PASTE STONES NECKLACE

The picture doesn't do justice to this very attractive mauve/lilac paste necklace - probably 1950/s - 1960/s. The colours are lovely. This is one of many paste stones necklaces we have at Vintage Modes. £120. www.gillianhorsup.com

MARCASITE BOW BROOCH

A very classic piece this time! A marcasite bow brooch stamped silver. It is in good condition and has a safety catch. These classic pieces look good anywhere - on a jacket - even on a hat or beret. They can be attached to an evening bag and then worn next day to the office. It is £75. www.gillianhorsup.com

EXTRA LONG ART DECO BAKELITE HAT PIN

My latest find is quite amazing - it's an oversized mustard yellow bakelite hat pin - it is 9 1/2 inches long. Not unusual in Victorian hat pins - but deco ones are usually a bit smaller! The cloche hat ones are often very small. It's a bit expensive - but when do you see another one! It's so hard to find the unusual things. Anyway I got quite excited by it! £65. Ref. 415 A188/16. www.gillianhorsup.com

ART DECO GREEN GLASS NECKLACE

I love these Art Deco necklaces - it is in green glass with silver decoration. It is so typical of it's period. Would look great with a 1930's outfit. They are hard to find without any damage. It has been rethreaded - so it will not fall apart! Otherwise it is completely original. It is £88. www.gillianhorsup.com

Perfect for the coming spring! A very pretty hand-embroidered vintage clutch with a delicate floral design. From Susie Nelson at Vintage Modes.

Pair of 1960s Silver Boots

Fantastic pair of original 1960s silver boots, from June Victor at Vintage Modes. These were actually purchased from an ex-model who wore these in the 60s!

Vintage Miracle Brooch

A brooch for someone who loves Miracle jewellery. The firm - A Hill & Co (Birmingham) Ltd - is still going but these vintage pieces (1960-1980 I think) are often bigger and bolder! They immitate Celtic jewellery in metals and glass immitations of semi-precious stones. This would look good on the thick jumpers and coats we are wearing in this cold weather! 412 A165/36 The price is £48. www.gillianhorsup.com

VINTAGE KONPLOTT EARRINGS

Well these are certainly big enough to be seen! Konplott was started by Miranda Konstantinidou in 1986 and she has relatively small production lines. There is nothing like this in her current catalogue. They have dark and light "amber" coloured paste stones - on dark metal - and are clips. They are not quiet as heavy as they look. I have been buying very big earrings lately and there has been a lot of interest in them. See them in my shop at Vintage Modes. The earrings are £88. www.gillianhorsup.com

YSL GILT AND WHITE PASTE NECKLACE

Love this - a vintage YSL necklace in gilt and white paste. It's so wearable I would love to keep it! It's the sort of piece you could go anywhere in - dress it up or dress it down! Some YSL pieces I have had have been a bit over the top and difficult to wear - particularly the earrings! Not my cheapest piece but I think it would give years of wear! Price £200. www.gillianhorsup.com
