Art Deco Bracelet with Dark Blue Glass Pieces

So pleased with this - it's an art deco bracelet with 6 dark blue molded pieces. Although it is worn on the back - the brass is showing through the white metal surface - the glass pieces are in tact! VINTAGE GIVENCHY GILT NECKLACE AND BRACELET SET

HOBE VINTAGE BROOCH - FROSTED GLASS STONES

This is a frosted glass stones brooch by Hobe with faux pearls and white paste. Hobe made very good quality jewellery firstly in Paris and then in America. Hobe jewellery was never cheap. This brooch is beautiful - the quality is excellent. I wish I could buy more Hobe but I don't see it very often at a price I can afford! The price for this lovely vintage brooch is £78. The reference number is 405 A190/12.

PAVONE CLOWN BROOCH

A Pavone Clown brooch. Pavone jewellery is made by Marie-Christine Pavone from reworked galalith (which is an old plastic that cannot be moulded - it has to be hand cut). This is a fabulous design. The blue/white pieces are stunning. Pavone mostly makes animals - it is nice to get something different. The brooch is £58. The reference number is 404 A189/42.

BLACK & WHITE CATS FACES CLIP EARRINGS

I thought these were fun! A pair of cats'faces clip earrings in black, white and red plastic. They are cheeky. I do not know the history but doubt if they have ever been worn.

LEA STEIN BROOCHES

Here are 3 of the latest additions to our Lea Stein collection. They have been selling well this Christmas and it is difficult to get replacements at this time of year - but we still have quite a few. If you are looking for a particular style/colour do let me know! They range from £40 - £55 in the main - unless it is something a bit different! The exchange rate has put the prices up a bit!

BUTLER & WILSON LARGE VINTAGE CLIP EARRINGS

These are very large, round, clip earrings by Butler & Wilson - probably from the 1980's. They are made in gilt metal and have white square glass stones and some round coloured glass stones. They measure 2 inches across the diameter. I love the vintage Butler & Wilson jewellery - it is so individual! I always try to have some pieces in the shop. The earrings are £68. The reference is 400 A172/15.

VINTAGE HAT BROOCH

I have recently been asked for brooches in the shape of a hat - so was pleased to get this one. It is nicely made with sharp detail on the front. It is marked "925" but because it doesn't have an official hallmark I cannot describe it as sterling silver. Anyway it's a great shape and is one of many vintage brooches I have in my shop. It is £48. The reference number is 399 A188/55.

MAUVES STONES AND WHITE BAGETTES NECKLACE AND BROOCH SET

A great set - comprising a French necklace and brooch. Cannot read the signature - except that it was made in Paris. The glass stones are lovely - the square stones are mauve and grey and the oval stones and mauve and lilac. The metal is dark coloured and it has the long, white stones as a contrast. PENDANT NECKLACE - GILT AND CREAM AND GREEN

This is a great 1970's pendant necklace in gilt with cream and green plastic pieces. Lanvin was making great pieces similar to this at the time. I cannot make out the mark on this one. It's a good shape and the condition is O.K. Just one item in the huge selection of vintage jewellery I have at Grays Antiques. It's reference number is 397 A187/6 and it's price is £65.

CELLULOID CAMEO STYLE BROOCH

This is most unusual - it's a large, celluloid hanging brooch - with girl's head (cameo style) surrounded by coloured flowers and hanging from a bar. It's in such good condition - even the fine chord. I have never seen one like it! Its £55 and the reference number is 396 A186/41.

BURBERRYS GILT, HOOPED, CLIP EARRINGS

It is hard to get nice, large hooped earrings - and these are big! They are marked "Burberry's" and the drop from top to bottom is approx. 7 cms. The hoops are patterned. I did have a great pair of Butler and Wilson ones but one of the earrings fell into the water on a photoshoot - and I have not been able to find any as nice. So was really pleased to get these!

AMBER BRACELET

I love this amber bracelet. It has 3 amber pieces - each piece being a different shade of yellow. It is marked "925" and has some other marks - which are not British. The amber is in good condition. It would make a great present!

ART DECO PASTE BRACELET DRGM

This is something I would have liked to have kept. It is a German Art Deco paste bracelet, channel set, and marked DRGM. The paste is not all bright and shiny but the colour is even. It has small, black (?) galalith beads in between the paste rows. These are so Art Deco, and so smart! They are also very hard to find now and I was so pleased to find it! Worth getting up on a Sunday morning early for.

TRIFARI GILT, FAUX PEARL AND PASTE NECKLACE

This is a Trifari gilt, faux pearl and white paste necklace. Good quality and condition. I used to be able to buy lots of this gilt Trifari but sadly now it is much more difficult to buy pieces in good condition. Very classic and smart!

ASKEW CLIP EARRINGS WITH BEE AND BIRD

Not a thing to buy in Cairo so it's back to London! I found these on my return and they are mad! A pair of Askew gilt metal, clip earrings. They each have a bird with faux pearls, and bee and a butterfly - with leaves. They have a faux pearl drop. I love Askew earrings - they are usually quite special! Just the thing to wear over Christmas!

Original 1920s Shoes

A great pair of original 1920's striped fabric shoes in red, white and blue with elaborate diamante heels. Good condition overall.

BOHEMIAN GLASS BEAD HANGING/DRESS ORNAMENT

I was so surprised to see a celluloid fan with an Egyptian Revival theme. They are usually smaller with floral and cutout decoration. This one is so unusual with its Egyptian Revival decoration. It is £68. Unicorn.

Pygmalion Globe Compact

This is the second of my lucky finds! It is a gilt, Pygmalion, globe compact. It has sifter, puff, and the black material drawstring pouch. The mirror has a few marks and the puff has a small split - but the compact itself is in good condition. Price £95

Kigu Bouquet Compact with Floral Lucite Top

I have been lucky - and have managed to buy 2 interesting compacts. The first is a Kigu "Bouquet" compact with a floral "roses" lucite top. The photo is from the top - but sideways it is in the shape of a flat bottomed, half ball. It has a carrying handle. It is in good condition and has the sifter and puff. It is a long time since I had once of these in good condition.

Beautiful Stuart Weitzman bag

A beautiful bag by Stuart Weitzman for Russell and Bromley, with an iridescent skin effect. The bag has a flap opening with a gilt clasp fastened with a magnetic popper. There is an external zip pocket , an internal zip pocket and metal detailing on the corners. The strap is 67cm long.

2 ANIMAL PENDANTS

Bought these two wonderful animal pendants - but we have all disagreed about what they are! Are they cats, dogs or March hares! Anyway they are quite mad and I love them! They are in gilt metal and are quite big - they are approx. 2 1/2 x 3 inches - on a gilt chain. There are no maker's marks on them. They are £65 each.

This is a simply stunning brown crocodile bag , with a wonderful pattina. The bag has one internal zip pocket ,a single handle and 4 stud feet. Measurements w 25cm x h 19cm x d 8cm.The bag was probably made in Germany. £165 Susie Nelson

Red Galalith Art Deco Necklace

You could not get more Art Deco than this galalith and white metal necklace! It was made in Czechoslovakia in the 1930's. It is very light and easy to wear. I love these necklaces - which were often made by a factory called Jacob Bengel in Germany. This one is great because it's origin is different - and it doesn't look quite the same. BROWN CELLULOID LEAVES AND BAKELITE BALLS NECKLACE

An early morning find this! The necklace - from the 1930's - has a brown celluloid chain and brown/black celluloid leaves with streaky brown bakelite balls. SILVER MESH SNAKE BANGLE

Silver coloured metal mesh snake bangle - most likely by Whiting & Davis (the marking on the back of the head is indistinct). I love the earlier snake bangles but there is a demand for these at the moment. The price depends on the condition and how long the snake is. This one is a medium. Large Flower Clip Earrings

A buying trip to Brussels resulted in some wonderful pairs of earrings - including these extraordinary clip earrings by IKU Paris. The flower head has the earring clip and the stalk and leaves dangle. The earrings are about 4 inches in length and are quite different! The weather in Brussels was horrid and to get a cheap fair we had to go far too early - but it was worth it.
