Unusual red enamel Deco mirror and comb. The mirror and handle are decorated with a striking black and gold  geometric design. The faux tortoiseshell comb has its original tassel to help you pull it out from the handle, which can fold down so that it becomes compact enough to carry in a handbag.  In good condition.  Ref,. A wonderful cream and black celluloid hair comb!  It looks Art Nouveau - probably from the first part of the 20th century.  The celluloid pattern has been cut out and then coloured.  Celluloid was also called Ivorine or French ivory.  It is in good condition.  Ref: 2085 B98/26 Price £85.  More details on www.gillianhorsup.com - we always have a good selection of 20th century hair combs at Vintage Modes, Grays Antiques, in central London.

Fashion Retrospective at the Bloomsbury Ballroom

Last week Vintage Modes appeared at London Fashion Week in 'Fashion Retrospective'. A catwalk show and party that explores the past to predict next season's trends. Founded by Bourne and Hollingsworth, Retrospective teamed up with the best vintage experts in London including Vintage Modes to create a show that features fashions from the 1920s right through to the 1980s.

Late Night Christmas Shopping at Vintage Modes

Put these December dates in your diary for two special Christmas shopping events at Grays.
